The purpose of this guide is to help set up the Crypto Wallet on the Brave browser to access tNRG (testnet NRG) and Synthetic assets. The Wallet can be used to test Energiswap.
1. Set up Crypto Wallets
Brave has a Crypto Wallets feature built into the browser. For testing we recommend you use the default wallet.
1.1. Select “Crypto Wallets” in the Brave Browser.
1.2. Click “I understand” to continue.
1.3. Click “Create” under New Local Wallet.
1.4. Enter a new password, check the agreement, and then click “Create”
1.5. Click on the padlock to reveal the secret password.
1.6. Copy the secret words to a text editor and safely store the file. Click “Next”
1.7. Pick all the secret words in the correct order and then click “Confirm” to continue.
1.8. Congratulations! You have added the Crypto Wallets component to your Brave browser. Click “All Done” to continue.
2. Test Networks (Testnet)
This section will guide you through adding the Energi Testnet network, requesting Test Energi (NRG) to test Energiswap, and adding the eETH tokens to your Crypto Wallet in order to see and use them.
2.1. On the Crypto Wallet, click on the circle beside “Main Ethernet Network”
2.2. Select “Settings” in the drop-down menu.
2.3. In the Settings page, select “Networks” and then click on “Add Network”
2.4. Copy and Paste this data into the corresponding fields on the Setup page:
Network Name: Energi Testnet
New RPC URL: https://nodeapi.test.energi.network/v1/jsonrpc
ChainID: 49797 or 0xC285
Symbol: NRG
Block Explorer URL: https://explorer.test.energi.network/
Click “Save” to create the Energi Testnet network.
2.4.1. Validate that the “Energi Testnet” has been created. You will see the network as indicated in the screenshot below.
Note: After adding the custom Energi Testnet network, it is possible that you might still see your fees being calculated in “ETH”, as well as the Ethereum Icon () instead of NRG (
). The reason this happens is due to the Crypto Wallet automatically pulling data for Ethereum by default. You do not need to worry about spending any ETH you might have, as long as you followed the previous steps to connect the Energi Testnet to your wallet.
3. Add eETH Token
3.1. Login to Crypto Wallet. Verify that you are on “Energi Testnet” (#1). Click “Add Token” (#2).
3.2. Click “Custom Token”.
3.3. From the table below, copy the Contract Address of the tokens you want to create. You only need to create the tokens you want to test. In this guide, we will be using eETH.
